Yolanda T. Spinacci (Cotoia), 90, of Johnston, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Spinacci.
Born in Providence to the late Nicholas and Filomena (DeLuca) Cotoia, Mrs. Spinacci worked for many years as an artificial flower maker for Calart Flowers. She was an avid writer and will be remembered for the beautiful letters written to family and friends. Yolanda loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings. Her passion was cooking and baking for these occassions.
She was the beloved mother of Richard J. Spinacci and wife Doris and Annette Martin and husband Richard; the loving grandmother of Richard M. Spinacci and wife Maureen, Michele M. Spinacci and the late Steven P. Spinacci and step-grandmother of Susan M. Kanakry and David B. Martin. She also leaves several great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister of Marie Turchetta, Louise Ferrazano, John Cotoia, Rose Marie Capuano and the late Sara Cunha, Etta Rotonda, Carlo, Adamo, Guido, Joseph and Michael Cotoia. She was an aunt to many loved nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9am, from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston. Visitation Thursday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Please omit flowers.
