Yolanda “Yola” Cardarelli (Marcoccio), 86, of Smithfield, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Cherry Hill Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late Emilio “Rex” Cardarelli. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Filomena (Gramaldi) Marcoccio.

Yola was an accomplished painter and was known for her beautiful landscapes. She was a volunteer at the Providence Performance Arts Center and the North Providence Senior Center where she was an active member of the Mancini Choraliers Chorus Group.

She leaves two daughters, Donna A. Kenyon and Gail M. DeSimone; four grandchildren, Rocco DeSimone II, Derek DeSimone, Dillon DeSimone and Matthew Kenyon; two sisters, Josephine “GiGi” Elgar and Dorothy DiStaolo. She was the sister of the late Mario and Carmino Marcoccio and Louise Iasimone.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. VISITATION Friday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
